Of course you can't have the map until the Captain lets you be part of the Crew (in other words you have to join) but I am showing you a copy. I hope I don't "keel hauled" for this.

As you can see there is treasure buried all over the Map. Once you are in you'll want to explore and a couple of the locations the Captain will ask you some questions... answer honestly or you'll "walk the plank."

Myself, being an "old' guy and not liking to walk I took the shortest path to each location.
In the Clickbank Pirates "Access Packs" I found this:

5 treasure Blogs (actually 6 counting the Clickbank Pirates Blog) and the Captain says I get 5 new ones for each Month I sail with the crew. Doctors are trained to identify and treat the Symptom… NOT the root cause. In other words your Doctor doesn’t know how to cure you of a disease. They weren’t trained to do so, and if they DO know… they aren’t allowed to apply that knowledge in most instances. Are you curious as to why that is so? I was.

In the USA (from my perspective) there are 3 Political Parties. Two of which put forth candidates for the position of President. The Third Political Party has no need to do so. To them it makes no difference whom is in the top position because “They” control the majority anyway… always… and they know it. So what are the three Parties?

They are the Republicans, the Democrats, and the Pharmacrats. Bet you never heard of that last one did you. There are 2 Pharmaceutical Lobbyist in Washington for every 1 Congressman or Senator. Think about that for a minute. Our so-called elected Officials are out numbered 2 to 1. When it comes to a fight on the floor of Congress or the Senate in respects to a Pharmaceutical issue who do you think is going to win… the Pharmaceutical Industry of course. Now that, in my opinion, constitutes a “Political Party.”

Oh, and the Pharmacrats wield Powerful Weapons too.

Weapons such as $$$, Political Favors through those they already have in their pockets, other Favors such as free use of Vacation Homes, Condominiums, or Clubs, and Paid Memberships to Exclusive Clubs. And let’s not forget Seats on the “Board of Directors” for various Organizations (designed to protect the Pharmaceutical Industry’s Interest) that pay handsomely for doing nothing. And there are sometimes deferred positions such as “Directors” positions that have to wait until the “Term of Office” is over to avoid conflict of interest. If you think I am joking do some serious research on your own.

Now WHY is the Pharmaceutical Industry willing to put 2 Lobbyist in Washington of every Senator and Congressman? Lobbyists get paid so that in itself is a considerable expense. It is a big expense but it is also a mere pittance of what the Pharmaceutical Industry generates in profits each year. That Industry is a Trillion Dollar Industry. They are going to protect those profits in every way they possibly can. Because we are a Country that uses a system of laws designed (supposedly) to protect the “Publics’” interest, the Pharmaceutical Industry has to have in place a method to manipulate those laws to protect THEIR interest, thus the Lobbyists. And their system of Lobbyist works. And that is not the only place they (the Pharmacrats) spend huge amounts of money.

Think about how many Commercials you see on Television for Prescription Drugs, or even non-prescription “Patented” drugs every day. Hundreds of them… and every one of them cost the company that is advertising that product anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 (Prime Time Spots) for EACH ONE of those commercials. Obviously they must be making a profit on the sales of those products or we wouldn’t continue to see the same product advertised over and over… and over… and over. They are making a profit, a huge profit. When it costs $.03 to make a single pill and you charge $68.00 per pill you, my friend, are making a profit. That $68.00 per pill is an actual example of what my Niece has to pay for one of her prescriptions. Maybe it costs them $.63 to make that particular pill but the markup is still huge.

Patented “Over the Counter” pills are the same. It costs $.03 or $.04 to make a single pill. You buy 30 of them for $7.95… hmm, let’s see. $7.95 divided by $.03 divided by 30 equals 8.8. A markup of almost 9 times their cost. Actually the manufacturer probably gets only half of that but a profit of 4 times your costs is nothing to complain about. Are you beginning to see the Big Picture?

Here is another thought on this subject. Your Doctor is trained by Schools that receive HUGE donations from the Pharmaceutical Industry; sometimes entire “wings” of the School are funded entirely (at value of millions of Dollars) by the Pharmaceutical Industry. Those Schools are not going to jeopardize those income sources by teaching anything the Pharmaceutical Industry doesn’t want taught. In instances where the do teach those skills they are usually “elective” and don’t have a large following.

In addition to that there is the FDA and AMA presence whose policies are dictated by the laws (approved by the Pharmaceutical Industry) that the Government passes. Those two groups control (limit) what your Doctor can and can’t do…. And what they CAN”T do is anything that will threaten the Profits of the Pharmaceutical Industry. Unfortunately that includes actually curing you because if they did you wouldn’t need to buy the Pharmaceutical Industry’s products anymore… now would you?

So, we have a group presence with specific interests at heart embedded deep within our Government. This group in some way affects almost every aspect of our healthcare. Its control reaches deep into almost every major health related organization, agency, or Company in this nation. It even controls other areas of the nations operation, such as Import and Export policies (would want to import something that would adversely effect their profits), Communication Industry, and so on.

There you have it, your Doctor can’t “cure” you, only treat you. Maybe there’s another way.

Layard
http://naturescure.bel8.com

The Doctor Within

The Doctor Within

Most Doctors don’t cure diseases in the Western World, they only prescribe drugs to mask Symptoms. That’s what they are taught to do by our Medical Schools and Colleges. All of our Medical Institutions (over a hundred of them) that teach conventional medicine do NOT teach how to cure a disease, only identify and treat actual or impending diseases.

A 14th Century Physician would think the common everyday Doctors examination room to be a miraculous place of advanced technology. The Doctor of ancient times did the best they could with what they had. Unfortunately they often drew the wrong conclusion and then stuck to it.

As time passed we learned more about the human condition and therefore we should be getting better at treating diseases… and we are. As a matter of fact the American Doctor is one of the best in the world at treating diseases… and not worth a plug nickel at curing them. No disrespect to the Doctors themselves, they are just doing what they were taught to do and most of them are doing so with the best intentions at heart.

In ancient times the Witchdoctor was the most powerful person in the tribe, even above the Chief. If you angered the witchdoctor you could have a curse placed on you… maybe even thrown out of the tribe. Essentially it remains the same today. The only difference is we don’t call it a witchdoctor… we call it the AMA. And we call it the FDA… and the FTC… and so on. All sorts of witchdoctors that dictate what the apprentice (your Doctor) can say and do. So your Doctor can only do what He or She was trained to do and allowed to do, and that is TREAT diseases, not cure them. Keep in mind that if they (your Doctors) disagree with the Witchdoctor they are subject to cures or being banned… in other words they may loose their license.

So what is a disease?
Why is it so difficult to get rid of them?
Partly because of the nature of the training our Doctors receive. Even though they have to have extensive knowledge of the human body as a whole they are not taught to look at it as a whole. They are taught to look at specific areas or organs. Often, with this methodology, the root cause of the condition is ignored or missed and the end result is the disease returns or its symptoms merely masked by some foreign chemical called a Prescribed Drug. We, being the layman, believe what the Doctor tells us… duh.

The human body is an extremely complicated machine. It is also, while seemingly delicate, a very resilient machine in the sense that given the right nutrients (chemicals) it can heal itself.

The other thing to keep in mind is that everything the human body needs to thrive occurs NATRUALLY in nature… not in some Lab. In my opinion there is not one single modified compound, chemical, or substance created in a Lab that will benefit my body. As a matter of fact most of them actually have an adverse effect on it… and on your body also. That is not to say that some of the products available to us aren’t good for us. There are some processes that do not modify chemical structures or destroy natural enzymes that result in viable products.

Our body is made up of many natural chemicals, compounds, and elements; the majority of which is Water or H2O. Furthermore, just like Fire needs Oxygen to burn, our body needs Oxygen to function... lots of it.

With that being said, it is believed (in many circles) that the majority diseases are a result of Oxygen Deficiency. No, Oxygen Deficiency is NOT a disease, it is a CONDITION. As a matter of fact most of the new Diseases you see touted on Television are not diseases, they are Conditions. The body can’t heal itself if it doesn’t have enough fuel (Oxygen) to do so. In addition to that, I believe, H2O is one of the major distributors of the various nutrients, including Oxygen in our bodies. So all one should have to do is eat right, drink lots of water, and breathe deeply… right?

Well… yes, IF our body is in good condition to begin with. That is not usually the case though. If we have a disease it is because we have already experienced an Oxygen deficiency for some time, years often. For one thing, we are forced to drink water laced with chemicals that are harmful to our body all our life in the USA. In addition to that almost all the processed foods we eat contain additives that are not good for us. No wonder we have more sick people in this country (USA) per capita than any other 1st world country. Unfortunately your Doctor can’t fix that… but YOU can.

With a little effort on your part you can began the process of learning how to help your body do what it is designed to do… thrive. What kind of effort? Education, research, and then take the appropriate actions. For some folks that may mean a major change in diet or routine, others may only have to make minor adjustments. Whichever your case may be, I believe if you improve your body’s ability to take in and utilize water and Oxygen and provide your body with the proper nutrients you will reduce, if not eliminate, the effects of any disease.

So, my final words are “Get Smart,” start doing some research in those areas discussed above. The Internet has a wealth of information waiting for you to discover.

Layard
http://naturescure.bel8.com

Gas-saving Devices: Fuel Saver or Consumer Scam?

I noticed this statement in a report I recently purchased.

Gas-saving Devices: Fuel Saver or Consumer Scam? You can get it Here for $1.00

Anyway, here is the statement:

"The Federal Trade Commission has tested more than 100 products on the market that claim a person can save 20% or more on their gas expenses. However, this agency wasn’t able to verify any of these products could offer those results or any significant benefit at all."

Here is my personal opinion about that statement:

I have my doubts about the validity of the FTC’s results. The “intent” of the FTC is to insure its own existence… and the funding sources for its existence. Money and Oil funds the Governments so it is obvious (to me) that any tests results that may jeopardize those sources will not be published or be re-done with different criteria. In other words the FTC has a vested interest in the devices tested NOT working.

Actually it gets even more sinister than that. The Auto Industry has put controls in your vehicle to prevent some of those devices from working properly under the ruse of “improving emissions" and/or "improving mileage." These are computerized controls that receive signals from various sensors in your vehicle. Older vehicles are more easily converted to show real and substantial results with some devices (HHO gas) while the new vehicles make it more of a challenge… and more expensive. Improvements can still be realized but they require additional components designed for that specific vehicle.

One other comment… many of the devices that the FTC say don’t work, actually don’t work. Devices that "disturb" air flow in some manner historically do not work. Although air-flow studies indicated there may be some improvements in specific installations most devices designed for "universal" applications have fallen way below stated benefits. There are too many variables affecting the airflow before and after the device in the average vehicle.
So... does that mean that you waste your money on any such device? In most cases, Yes.
But... there is a type of device that does actually give you benefits that save you money. These are the HHO or "Browns Gas" devices.

Some of the advantages of such devices I'll list below.

Improved gas mileage (varies from only a few % to as much as 50%)

Reduced emissions (as a result of more complete combustion of the fuel charge delivered to the cylinders)

Reduced maintenance costs (better combustion in the cylinder means less carbon deposited in the combustion chamber and getting by the rings into the oil)

Smoother running engine (almost everyone who has installed these type of devices have commented on this)

No dangerous pressurized hydrogen fuel tank in your vehicle (like the Auto Industry is developing), it is a small, simple "on-demand" system that can installed in your vehicle.

Relatively easy to install or have installed

There are several companies marketing these devices. Some are complete systems very expensive (in my opinion), some are complete systems that are fairly priced, and there are a couple that are "how to" manuals that include the sources to purchase the components at very reasonable prices. I discovered that I could get a generator for less than what it would cost me to purchase the parts locally and make my own through one of those sources.

The bottom line is Fuel Prices are going to continue to rise and...

Every penny we spend on Gas contributes to the financial success of entities that do not have our (You and Me) best interests at heart.

HHO gas generation device development is at a stage that the average person can take advantage of it.

HHO gas devices are not openly being developed by the Automotive Industry for what I believe is strictly Political (read Monetary) reasons.

Each person should do their own research... make up your OWN mind on this. I am just giving my opinions on the subject.

Personally, I think any intelligent person, after having done the research, is going to embrace this technology and "Gas-saving Devices: Fuel Saver or Consumer Scam?" is a good start.

LD

Trees?

Trees?

This is a true story. One that taught me a little bit about my communication skills.

My youngest son and I had a conversation (over 16 years ago) when he was about 5 years old.

He had received a toy for his birthday that was battery powered. One of those little Remote Control Trucks. After playing with it for a while the battery ran down so we had to put it on the charger.

While it was being re-charged he and I talked. I told him "When I was little, like you, there weren't Remote Control Cars and Trucks to play with." And he asked "What did you play with Daddy?" so I began to tell him.

I told him about my Sand Box, I had built him one and he had spent many hours in it and he also enjoyed climbing on a small tree we had in the back yard.

Anyway, I began to describe they toys I had back then. My favorite were the ones I could take outside to my sand box. Nothing technologically shocking but to me they were fantastic. They were called Tonka Toys and I still remember the joy of playing with the Bulldozer and the Crane. Those he could understand because I had bought him a few Tonka Toys and similar products for him to use in his sand box.

Then I talked about the games we had... card games like Go Fish and Memory. I also said a few words about the games Grown-ups played with "real" cards and board games like Monopoly.

I told him we didn't have games like Nintendo of the Sony Play Station. Also the TV was only black and white. I showed him a picture in the newspaper that was black and white when he asked what that meant.

We talked about playing ball, "hide and seek", and "Your It" type of games with other kids too. Plus I explained that I didn't get to play in the snow because where I lived when I was little it never snowed. He liked playing in the snow so that seemed amazing to him... that I never got to play in snow. I was raised in Florida.

Anyway, after about 30 minutes of us talking he looked up at me with an almost sad expression ( I can still see that look on his face) and asked "Daddy, did you have trees back then?"

I laughed and said "Yes, we had trees." Then I explained that there wasn't one in my yard and I wasn't supposed to leave my yard so I didn't get to climb a tree like he had in his yard. A look of relief came over his face and then we put the charged battery in his Truck and played with technology again.

Now, every time I see a "blank" look on someone's face when I say something, when I didn't communicate clearly enough for some reason, in my minds eye, I see that little face and hear the words... "Daddy, did you have trees back then?"

Enjoy,
Layard
http://powerfulyou.inform-me.net/

Communication Gap?

Often, when I was teaching (adults) I would present a theory verbally to the class. Then I would scan the faces of my students.

What was I looking for?

I was looking for the "what in the world does that mean?" look on anyone's face. That "I didn't understand a word he said" look told me that I had not laid down the proper foundation for understanding the theory presented or I had not presented it in the proper manner for that student.

And guess what... very often I saw it.

Does that mean I was a poor teacher? No, I wasn't done yet.

Every Class, like every Human, is a work in progress.

Everyone of us processes information through our three major senses. By listening (auditory), by seeing (visual), and by touch (kinesthetic) with one of them be preferred. When we communicate with others we have a tendency to use the method we ourselves favor. If the person we are talking to doesn't use that same method we often miss the mark in our communication.

Unless we are conscious of the other persons 1. response, and 2. their "preferred" method we fail to get our point across. What is worse is that, without the knowledge of how these work, we often blame the other party. We think that the person we are talking to is an idiot for not grasping the obvious... yes you have thought that so don't deny it. Of course that is not true. The responsibility for communicating clearly lies within us, not the other person.

So how do we learn to communicate clearly, how do we bring about "understanding" in the listeners mind?

First we have to understand, ourselves, that there are 3 predominant methods of information intake used. Visual, auditory, and kinesthetic and usually one of them is favored more heavily over the other two. Then, once we realize that, we need to identify which method is favored by the person we are talking to. And finally, here is the hard part, we need to learn how to present the same information in all 3 methods.

What do we have to do to identify which method the other person uses? Now this is difficult so be prepared... we ask... we ask questions.

We ask that person a few questions and LISTEN to his or her answers. In the answers are the keys to the methods their mind uses to process information.

If that person says "I hear what you said but it just doesn't sound right" or "That doesn't click" then that person processes predominantly through auditory input. If you are visual then you present information in an animated and relatively fast verbal presentation. Yes, you are still using words (audio) to present your information but it is the manner in which you use those words that is confusing your listener. Auditory people prefer slow and deliberate communication.

A good example of that method is Carl Sagan's method of introducing each segment in his "Cosmos" series on the PBS TV stations. Carl left this world on December 20, 1996 and is missed by us all in one way or another but his work lives on in many forms. Visit the Carl Sagan Website to learn more.

If the response is "That doesn't feel right" then your listener relies heavily on kinesthetic input. Your presentation will have to include real life experiences for that person to compare to in his or her mind for it to make sense. Compare your information to something that person has probably done, actually physically experienced, in their life. Remember that we "feel" with both our sense of touch AND our emotions so you can sometime use an "emotional" comparison as well as a physical one.

If the response is "That doesn't look right" or something similar then they are "visual", which is the most common. If you are "auditory" then you miss the mark because your presentation (even if it is a simple one) is, for all practical purposes, in a foreign language for your listener. You would need to speed up your presentation, become more animated, and use visual comparisons in it.

So, to be a good communicator you need to understand all three methods and learn how to use all three methods of presentation. You can do that with a little effort... well maybe more than just a little effort but you CAN do it.

I would suggest, being that you can't be in a class with me personally, that you watch the "Cosmos" (Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan) series on Public Television and take the presentations made by Carl Sagan apart using the information we have covered so far. You'll notice that he (Carl) uses "auditory" introductions, "visual" presentations, and "kinesthetic" comparisons to bring about an understanding of complex subjects to the watchers. And he does it very well. Even if you don't care about the material he covers, the methods used are clear, entertaining, and effective. As a student of communication you could benefit greatly from emulating his methods. I do, actually I used those methods for the last 25 years and they have worked for me.

One closing comment. The comprehension level of your listener is important also.

For example, you wouldn't try to teach basic electricity to a 4 year old child. They simply don't have the references in their experiences to understand the subject. That often applies to adults as well. Try to teach electricity to an Aborigine and you will discover that fact. Also, it would be pointless to give a presentation on "Algebra used in Quantum Physics" to a conference of Dentists. For that reason you have to tailor your communication to the educational level AND the comprehension level of your listeners.

Enjoy,
Layard

You can see more self improvement articles at http://selfimprovement.bel8.com/

Sorry... No Raise Today.

Sorry, I can’t give you a raise today...

When I was an Area Manager for a Mechanical Services Company one of my technicians came to me and complained about his wages. Now this particular Company paid all of their mechanics excellent wages, above the market average, so he was not underpaid by any means, yet there he stood wanting more money.

I would have actually enjoyed giving him a raise... but I couldn't.

Not because the Company wouldn't let me but because his performance did not justify it.

I knew that because I was a technician for many years and I also taught Automotive and Diesel Technologies for Private and Public Institutions and when it takes 2 hours to complete a job that should take only one then that indicates one of two things, either he did not have the required skill level (which he did) or he did not put the proper effort (laziness) into the job, which was the actually the case. It is difficult to pull the wool over my eyes when I know how to do it myself.

Our technicians were rewarded on a performance based system, or in other words, they got what they deserved. Unfortunately that particular technician never earned a raise in 2 years.
His mindset was one of "the world owes me" and that kept him from being all he could be.

So what's the point of this? Simply that the world operates the same way.
As a result of the Laws of Nature each of us gets exactly what we deserve ACCORDING TO OUR ACTIONS.

Oh, I know that many people hold to the view that everyone deserves the best of everything and that perspective is correct, we do deserve the best... but we have to GIVE our best to receive the best. Action equals reaction, Law of Nature, expecting the world to give you something without you taking the correct actions to receive simply does not work.

I was always amazed when I hear someone ask “Where is my raise?” Had that technician put some of the effort that I know he was capable of into doing his job the best he could he would have gotten a raise. Notice I didn’t say HIS raise, because it wasn’t his yet, he hadn’t earned it through his actions.

If you had a rubber ball in your hand and you dropped it what would happen?

The ball would accelerate towards the floor in agreement with the Laws of Gravity and bounce... but not high enough to return to your hand. You put no personal energy into the ball's momentum.

On the other hand if you threw the ball at the floor it would bounce much higher. How high would depend on how hard you threw the ball. Action equals reaction, Law of Nature, a simple reality we cannot escape.

The magnificent thing about that particular Law (Action = Reaction) is that it is applied in ALL areas of our existence, not just the Physical areas. This Law works on the Physical, Mental, and Spiritual levels of all life. And it is applied to all with equal and immutable results.

If you want something in life, in any area of your life, then take action. Often we have to discover what action to take but the very thought of that alone begins the process that will lead you to the correct path… as long as you follow through.

Thinking “I need to learn how to do that” and then doing nothing to educate yourself accomplishes nothing. Thinking “I want a raise” and then doing nothing to improve your performance accomplishes nothing. Thinking “I want people to respect me” and then doing nothing to respect others accomplishes nothing. Dropping the Ball and letting Gravity do all the work accomplishes nothing.

So, if you want something, take action. Throw that Ball (Mental, Physical, or Spiritual) as hard as you can… and get ready to RECEIVE.

Ain’t Nature Great!
Layard

You can see more article at http://selfimprovement.bel8.com

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://led123.blogspot.com/2008/05/sorry-no-raise-today.html' title='Sorry... We have all sorts of platitudes that say the same thing, birds of a feather flock together, if you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas, and many more but the point is, it's a fact. Like attracts like is actually a Law of Nature.

Now I know al the mis-matchers on the planet are saying "no, you are wrong" because they subscribe to the "opposites attract" perspective, but that is all it is, a perspective. The attraction of North to South poles in a magnetic field is the magnetic attraction occurring. Magnetic attracts magnetic (or something in sympathy with "magnetic") as a magnet does NOT attract wood, glass, and a multitude of other materials. The Law still holds true.

If we accept this Law as being valid, how do we make use of it in a beneficial way?

I wish I could give you a simple one-liner that would allow you to do that but I can't. Because it is a Law of Nature (or a Universal Law) each and every thing in this Universe not only OBEYS it but also MAKES USE OF it. The things we see around us like Trees, Rocks, Cats, or Dogs obey that same law just as we do. The entire Planet, yes the entire Universe is subject to the Law of "Like attracts Like" If you drop an apple core in the ground a Maple tree is not going to spring up from the seeds in that apple core... an apple tree is. Dogs can't mate with cats (or human legs, LOL) Fish can't mate with Birds, and so on. This thread holds true throughout Nature as we understand it. Like attracts like on every level of existence. But... there is one very important difference between all of those things and Human Beings.

Human Beings are "conscious", they are capable of thinking. Not that they always make use of that ability as many people in Managerial positions and most Politicians prove, but they ARE capable of thinking. That ability gives us, You, I, and everyone else, the ability to "make use of" that Law.

What does that mean? Well, a tree cannot change the way it reacts to the Laws of Nature. A seed from an apple cannot decide on its own that it want to be a Maple Tree instead of an Apple Tree. A dog in the embryo stage cannot decide to be born a Cat, nor can Humans change that aspect of the Law, but, a Human CAN change the way they react to the world around them simply by "thinking" about it and no other living thing (to my knowledge) can do that. That ability to "think" gives us (Human Beings) the ability to make use of the Law.

To put it bluntly, you attract what you think about. Here is where people get hung up on all the things seemingly wrong with the world such as Hunger, Genocide, and Poverty. We generally say to ourselves "I can't believe all those folks that are starving to death are attracting that" but, and I say this with compassion, they are, and in a later lesson I will try to explain what I understand about those events. Also, because you in fact attract what you think about, here is where it gets challenging... at least the personal level.

Have you ever done something that you wish you hadn't and weren't sure why you did it? I have, and I'll be t you have too. I now understand what brought that action about but when it was happening I didn't understand because I didn't understand the true power of the Law.

Other people’s energies (thoughts) CAN affect us and our actions IF WE LET THEM. Those folks that don't realize they have control over how they think "react" and those that do understand "respond." When you "react" the resulting action is a result of existing thought patterns which come about as a result of past experiences and teachings. But when you "respond" you are creating new thought patterns in respects to that particular event or experience along with drawing on past
experiences. There is a huge difference between those two and the results attained. Personally, I would rather be a "responder" and not a "reactor" because if I am a responder then I have control.

What do I mean by "I have control"?

I have a choice as to how I respond to any particular event. I can be angry, sad, happy, relieved, frustrated, or any other emotional response that I CHOOSE... as long as I remember that I control my thoughts.

For example if my boss come in and says "you're fired" I can, be angry and attack him or her, be despondent and crawl into self-pity, or be thankful and realize that there are now new opportunities opening for me. I know from personal experience that the last choice is not only the best choice but when you make that choice the Law kicks in. And I'll tell you another secret about that event, it happened because you wanted it to. At some level within yourself you are not happy with that job
(I really hated mine) and because that is what you think about the whole time at work, the Law brought about events to have you removed from that situation. Ultimately the Law works in our best interest. That may be hard to accept but it is true. By the way, two days later (after I got fired for disagreeing with a senior manager) I received an unexpected call offering me a position (not a job) doing what I love (teaching in the Private Sector) at a much greater pay level. The Law works in our best interest. Admittedly not everyone is going to get fired from one job and be offered a better one only a few days later. Sometime the Law is trying to "teach" you a lesson... about yourself. Once again you can either "respond" and do some soul searching that will perhaps bring about a change, or you can "react", be angry, and go get another job you hate. The choice is yours.

One more point, a tree doesn't become a tree overnight. With that said, understand that the changes in you (inside) and your life won't happen instantly either. We are a "growing" thing, just like a tree, and that rate of growth needs to appropriate to us (personally) for us to benefit. Sometimes that growth is painfully slow.

But... I control how I think, therefore what I think, and therefore what I attract.

And THAT folks is the KEY.

Next week we will begin exploring how to actually bring about Thought Control in our own minds.

To your success,
Layard

Many people wonder if there is Evidence to prove the "LAW" actually works. Well, there is. You can get an excellent Talking e-Book (free) about that by clicking HERE!

The Sky is falling... the Sky is falling

Well, not really, but it will seem like it is to a huge amount of on-line marketers very soon.

The whole nature of the Internet is changing. Not a surprise to many of us that have been "on-line" since 1990... but to the folks that came on after the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) era this change is going to catch them off guard.

In the beginning I had to learn "DOS" language (ugh) to function not only within my own computer programs but also on the Internet. I think most of my "brain damage" came from trying to remember all that code.

Then came HTML (hyper text markup language) for the Internet and I thought I was in Heaven. That allowed me to create Good Looking and Dynamic pages to post to the Internet. Now HTML hasn't gone by the wayside but....

Welcome WEB2.0... and you had better welcome it because it is here whether you like it or not. Actually, most people will welcome it... as soon as they upgrade their computer to access its features.

What is this big move... Video, Live Video, Free Video, Paid Video, Downloadable Video, Streaming Video, Video - Video - Video.

This is going to provide a level of Dynamic Interaction available to the average person that has only been available to Industry Giants before - mainly because of the cost.

For the user (you) the advantages are many. Soon you will be able to send live or recorded (from you Web Cam or Video Camera) movies of just about anything you want. That means Grandma can see little Ellie take her first step... or she can send You a movie of Grandpa falling asleep at the supper table... again. And, this isn't going to cost an arm and a leg nor be so complicate that you need a PHD to do it. In fact, you CAN do that today with services offered by Yahoo, Google, YourTube, etc'. Unfortunately many of those services are somewhat complicated right now but that will change.

So that is Great News for the Internet users that just use the Web to communicate to friends and family.

That is also Great News for the Marketer... IF!

IF the marketer catches the wave NOW. Most of the "Big" marketers are already using this technology  as I am sure you are aware of.  Many of the advertisements  you get via email, or as  a part of a free service that you use, come in Video Format.  And it works.  An advertisement that  have  Moving Action AND  Audio together is  much more interesting than a "static"  ad no matter how pretty it might be.  Plus, the amazing EXPLOSION of YourTube is an indicator that;
#1 it is easy to do already and,
#2 it IS NOT going to go away.

So what does this mean to you?
Well, if you are a user it just means that the Internet is getting more interesting and fun to use.

If you're a marketer though, well that means you'd better look at this change seriously, see what is available for Services and Training right now, identify how You can use this and how Your Competition is using this... Right Now.

There are all sorts of Articles, e-Books, Software, and Services available today on the Internet. Some of them are excellent, many are Junk, some of them will Survive this Initial Growth Period, many of them will fade into oblivion... along with unsuspecting subscribers dreams.

It is not beyond the average persons ability to enter this "New Web World" right now. I did, and I am an old bat (62) with a very limited attention span. Seems to be getting worse as I get older...

I managed to post to YourTube - http://www.youtube.com/v/LoiHvfisoPE and http://www.youtube.com/v/py1qsPyWP2o as well as post some video to my Website at http://mind-farms.com/videos/ss123.htm I didn't load all of the training videos because they just lost too much on YouTube. Obviously the ones on my Website are better quality, partially because I used a new program I purchased to shrink them and then uploaded the files.

In addition to that I stumbled on a Service that is making my amateur marketing efforts look like a Hollywood Production... and it is cheap. http://yourownvideo.mind-farms.com/

So... even an old dog can do this stuff.

Post your comments, let us know what is out there that we can use but... please make your comment useful and not just blatant links to advertising.

Yours,
Layard

Why Are We Still In The Dark?

Pre-creation...

Why Are We Still In The Dark?
Where did That term com from? I'll tell you where it caught My attention later in this article.

Actually, it has been taught for thousands of years. Every major Religion that I know of has either taught it specifically or referred to it in its writings. In addition to the teachings of spiritual leaders we find the same theme in the writings of many Financial, Political, and Business leaders of various periods, including today's well known Entrepreneurs.

People like Wallace Wattles, Napoleon Hill, Benjamin Disraeli, Tony Robbins, Jim Rohn, Andrew Carnegie, Paul J. Meyer, Mark Twain, Dr. Robert Anthony, and so many others have tried to explain this concept to us.

They have put it in their writings, on their Tapes and CDs, in their Presentations, and with their One-on-One coaching sessions. They KNOW it works because "They" are examples of it's effectiveness.

We see the "results" of this concept in them but... not in ourselves. We think "they" must be special because they can do this and we can't. It's like Window Shopping, looking at something through a glass window that you want but don't have for yourself. There they are... on the other side of the glass, beckoning us to come in, and here we are, stuck on the outside. That Stupid Glass Wall is in our way.

So why don't we get it? Why are we still in the dark?

Because we choose to be.

Did that comment "sting" a little bit. Well I hope it did because it is absolutely accurate.
We are where we are because we chose to be there. It was Our decisions that brought us to this particular point in our life. And, quite frankly, for many people, that reality is something they cannot accept. They think that the world has put them there, or their life is controlled by circumstances outside themselves. As long as they believe that they will continue to be what they are and where they are now. Personally I don't want to be the same person tomorrow, I want to be a better person. I don't want to be in the same place forever... and I won't be. I stepped through the glass. I came in out of the dark. I embraced "Pre-creation" with a vengeance.

Now telling you that doesn't help "you" one single bit does it? Hang in there.

The concept is simple.

The application of it is not.

It takes effort on your part to pull this off. I have no doubt that I just lost 80% of the readers right now with that statement. If you are not willing to follow the steps in the references below faithfully, then close this article now, grab a beer, go turn on the TV, and accept that you will be in the same place a year from now with nothing changed. Your life will continue to be a "re-run" of what it has been in the past.

For the remaining 20%, read on.

Simple doesn't mean easy. I say that, especially in reference to this article, because learning how to do something different from the way we were taught to do it is one of the hardest things one will ever accomplish. But... you can do it if you really want to badly enough.

To "pre-create" seems like a ridiculous concept at first glance but we do it all the time. We just don't realize we are doing it. If you cook, you envision how the meal will be at serving time well before you assemble the ingredients. If you build, you see in your mind what the project will look like before you collect the materials. These are obvious to even the uninitiated.

All we need to do is apply the same principles, those for cooking a delicious meal or building a beautiful piece of furniture, to the other areas of our life. Most of us actually think more about how to create a meal or build a dog house than how to create a life. That is amazing but true.

What does that mean. Well, there are certain steps that must be followed in order to create a meal or piece of furniture that is going to be what you want. Furthermore, there are components of those steps that must be adhered to in order to duplicate that meal or piece of furniture more than once. In plain talk, a cook has recipes and a carpenter has plans. As long as the "recipe" or the "plans" are followed faithfully the end result is successful.

Let's take a look at the process of creating a meal. What are the components of the total process.

1. Facilities

2. Recipe

3. Ingredients

4. Presentation

5. Eaters (yes, you must have this component)

"Facilities" may be simply a "Crock Pot" and a few utensils or a fully stocked commercial kitchen. It depends on the nature of the recipe. The cook needs to assemble all the necessary utensils before beginning the process of preparing the meal. If an item is missing that is critical to the process the meal may not come out like the "recipe" indicates.

"Recipe" is the steps to follow in a specific order. Those steps must be followed it "that" order for the meal to be successful. Any deviation will result in the meal either tasting different, looking different, or both. In other words, the desired result will not be realized.

"Ingredients" are the things that are necessary to build the total "meal" as described in the recipe. These are the actual components of this process that will be consumed, or appreciated by the persons enjoying the meal.

"Presentation" is the manner in which the meal is set before the people. This is an important aspect of any meal and it also requires certain "utensils" available to the cook.

"Eaters" are the people that will enjoy the meal. They also are going to pass judgment on the meal. The cook would have no way of knowing whether the whole process was done correctly unless he or she had some sort of "feedback" on the meal. Without feedback there is no way to know whether the meal was successful or not.

Now let's apply that to "life." Let's identify the elements of the process.

So where did the term "Pre-Create" catch my eye? On the Website called I Create Reality.

In order to have the "life" we want we have to "Pre-Create" it. In other words we have to think it before we can do it. Just like the cook making a meal, the "thinking" must be coupled with certain "actions" to realize final goal. There is an excellent resource for that (Pre-Creation) at this Website: I Create Reality

The Invisible Path to Success or Dr.Robert Anthony

1. We already have the Facilities to accomplish what we need to. It is our Brain and our Heart. Yeah, I know, what has our Heart have to do with this process. Our Brain creates our Thoughts, our Heart holds our Desires and is the source or our Passion. I know that the "Eastern" Religions refer to the "Solar Plexus" as being the seat of one half of this "Dual" power in humans but for all practical purposes we as "westerners" accept the term "Heart" more easily than "Solar Plexus" so I use that term.

We need to be aware of both to bring this off. If the Brain is saying one thing to us and our Heart is saying something else then that conflict either inhibits or stops our process. Just as a "Homemaker" prepares a meal with "Heart" (with love and desire to please his or her family) and "Brain" (understanding and following the steps of the recipe) we need to create our life with Heart and Brain.

I know we all have had experiences with successful people that seem to have Brain but no Heart. Believe me, they have Heart, they accessed their "Desires" through their "own" Heart. Their concept of Heart (their Passions) just doesn't seem to include consideration for other people on this planet from our perspective.

One of the interesting things about this whole process is that as you apply it, your "Desires" may change because your perspective of what is important in your life may (probably will) change. That is, what I think, the most Powerful aspect of this endeavor. The ability to "change" has to be the greatest ability ever given to the Human Race. You and I were given that ability.

2. The Recipe is the step-by-step process that we follow to reach our destination. Our destination may be enjoying the smiling faces of the folks that just enjoyed our delicious meal or feeling the warmth associated with the (spoken or unspoken) gratitude of those with full bellies.

In life we need to have a Recipe too. If we want to have a new car, get a better job, find a soul mate, or even simply get rid of a bad habit then we need to have a plan. For me today it is writing a complete sentence without misspelling a single word. We need to identify what steps are necessary to reach that destination and then follow those steps without fail until we get there. Identifying those steps is easier if we look at someone whom has reached that destination before.

We can follow "their" plan... like building a house. Of course you can build the exact same house if you want or you can change the plan but you want to be cautious that. Keep in mind that even if you use the exact plan you can paint the house any color you want to, put on any type of roof shingles, and furnish it the way You want.

The point is, the plan can still be adjusted to fit your "Desires" and still be the original plan. Remember, in planning our "life" we want to follow a "plan" that we know works.

So, the Recipe is the Plan. Plans have a description (a visual picture) of the end product (goal), a reference to the building process (implied in the sense you have to build the foundation before you can erect the walls), and a definition of the materials used in the construction. In our "life" plan we will need our "Goal", the "Steps" to take, and the "Materials" required. The first two of those is easy enough to get. The "Materials" may be more nebulous though. Depending on what your Goal is you may need to acquire some Books or Reference Materials to read or listen to. Obviously you need to acquire a Plan but you may need some other items as well.

3. The Ingredients are (A) The Plan, (B) your Brain, (C) your Heart, (D) Books or Tapes {possibly}, (E) a physical Location {Den, Bedroom, Bathroom, or in really busy homes the Garage or Public Library), (F) Pen and paper {keep a journal... this will be how you monitor your progress}, and anything else that may be peculiar to your Goal.

Those are pretty straight forward. Some of them we were born with. Others are readily available to us. Plans can be gotten from the Public Library and from the links on my website. I have links to various authors because all of them (the Authors) have "Plans" that work but each author has his or her own way of presenting things. Find one that seems to be right for you. I am of the belief that there is more than one "right" way to do any thing.

4. The Presentation is going to be what You set before yourself in this journey. Eventually the whole world will see it but in the beginning all your are to be concerned about is "presenting" it to yourself in a way that works for you. You are changing "You", not the world outside. The world will follow. I don't mean that the whole world will change, I mean that the changes in you will be acknowledged by the world. That is why you will want to have a place where you can be away from distractions when you first begin this. You will want to present these concepts and do the steps without any "outside" determent. In other words get away from those that say "you can't" during the early stages of this endeavor. Later into it you will be able to laugh at their comments because you will have Already Done what they said you couldn't.

In some instances the Presentation may, in fact, involve the people around you right from the start. If your first Goal is to be a Nicer Person to your Co-workers (just an example) then it seems obvious that you will have to Present to "them" this new (you) person consistently.

I am going to make a comment here that may seem in contradiction to what many "authors" teach.

The term "Fake It 'til You Make It" doesn't work... UNLESS... you have your Heart in it.

If your Goal is to be a nicer person to your Co-workers but you have no Desire in your Heart to do so then it is not going to last if it works at all. And THAT folks is a Fact.

5. The Eater of the fruits is YOU. Admittedly those around you will enjoy the changes (hopefully your purpose is to create a Good and more Prosperous Life and not something like be mentioned by Robert Stack on America's Most Wanted) but the real recipient of this particular "meal" is YOU. You are the one that will enjoy the benefits most.

We all like to think we are something we aren't on occasion. We put up this facade for the world to see but inside WE know the truth. If you have followed me this far you know that I know it doesn't have to stay that way. You CAN become that which you truly desire to become. I did it and so can you.

So, grab a "Recipe" for Your life change and start "cooking."

Enjoy,

Layard

Read Wallace Wattles' "The Science of Getting Rich on-line for Free .

Right Click - The Science of Getting Rich and save it to your computer.

Throw away the Car Keys?

Throw away the Car Keys?
by Layard Dunnett
So you want to work from your home... well, you actually can do that but it requires some Focused Thought and lots of discipline.
Not all of us are capable of working "unsupervised" from home. For one thing it is to easy to be distracted. Kids, Spouses, Pets, TV, Radio, and Doorbells all draw our attention away from what we are supposed to be doing.
Plus there are different "motivational" aspects of working at home.
If you are doing contract work for an account then the motivation is a monetary return that can be measured in a time/income relationship.
What that means is that You control that ratio (time/income) by how efficiently you work on the project.
If you are doing assigned work for an employer then your income is already fixed but... most employers have certain guidelines in respects to hours per assignment and you are expected to complete the assignment within the allotted hours.
If you don't then you may not get paid for additional hours you put in or... you may loose your "work from home" privileges or worse.
If you are operating your own business from home then it gets even scarier.
Now YOU are the boss, the CEO, the CFO, and the Board of Directors all in one.
The total responsibility of the income generated lies on your shoulders.
In other words, "The Buck Stops Here" has a much more serious meaning.
Not only are You responsible (the meaning of the saying) and accountable for the success or failure of the business but you also have to insure some "bucks" ($$$) are actually stopping "here" or you're not really working from home.
Your just "playing" from home.

Many people are attracted the "work at home" scene because it sounds easy.
It isn't.
It takes Personal Fortitude, Self Discipline, Persistence, Goal Establishing, Faith, Budgeting, and Passion to really succeed in that arena.
These are not attributes that we were born with.
They are skills that we learned, or acquired, through our life's experiences.
Or skills we haven't learned yet. If you don't have at least some of those skills you "work at home" business is almost certain to fail.
Actually, I hate using the word "fail."
I used to tell my Students "No one fails in my courses... they simply find another way to not do something" and they would laugh.
There is more than one way to do many things.
Some ways are more efficient than others, some ways don't accomplish the goal, some ways work for one person but not the next, and some ways can result in damage or injury.
The point I wanted to make to them is that if the method you tried did not accomplish the goal, then try a different method.
Whether it is fixing an engine, creating a program on a computer, taking a "good" picture with a camera, or baking a cake, no one fails... as long as they learn from the experience and try again in a different manner.
They didn't fail... they just found another way to "not bake a cake" so they now know what not to do.
They learned something even though they didn't accomplish the goal... on that try.
When I worded it that way it removed much of the "pressure" from the course.
It gave them the freedom to make mistakes in the learning process therefore they, as a rule, were more willing to try, to take that "first step" in learning a new skill.... because they couldn't fail.
No matter what they did they would learn something from the course. Even if it was only that they weren't good at that particular subject.
So... nobody "fails" as long as they keep trying.
One only fails by giving up.

One more comment on that subject.
Somebody said "Insanity is trying the same thing over and over again but expecting different results" and I think that is a very good definition.
If you keep trying and keep getting the same results maybe it is because you are not trying in a different manner.

So... what do you really have to put in place to be successful at your Home Business?
First you have to establish some "rules" that you are willing to follow.
Here are some suggestions.

Choose your business.
Think long and serious about this.
In order for you to be successful at it you will have to like the business you choose.
If you don't like it, or don't believe in the service or product then you won't make money at it. Many folks choose something they think they can make a lot of money quickly with but they have no true knowledge of the product and therefore are not passionate about it, or their business.
That is a recipe for failure if I ever saw one.
Although there are "recipes" for success that you can follow you must have certain mental precepts in place to bring them to realization.

Create a work space for your home business.
Preferably in a separate room. If that is not possible then choose an area that is isolated as possible from the daily traffic that occurs in your home.
Typically you will need a desk, adequate lighting, a computer (whether your business is Internet related or not), a printer (for most businesses), and perhaps a small bookshelf. If your business is going to be Internet related you will also need an internet connection.

Then, establish your work schedule (print it out and post it) for your business. You don't want to go to work "when you feel like it" because that mindset doesn't lead to a successful endeavor. Set regular hours... and stick to them.
Let the other family members know that those times are your "working" times and you are not to be disturbed.

Write down Specific Goals for your business.
See Achieving Your Goals for a good article on that subject.
Set "time lines" for your goals and do your utmost to reach them.
If you don't quite reach a goal but see progress towards it, don't beat yourself up.
You made progress, you're headed in the right direction, maybe you just need to "fine tune" your methods a little.
If you didn't make any progress towards a particular goal maybe you need to take another look at that goal.

Is it realistic?
Does it fit in your business model?
Is it something you REALLY want?
Think about those questions and try to answer them honestly.
If it is, and your not heading in that direction, maybe you need to try something different.

Read some of what Mike Brescia offers on that subject in his free newsletter HERE.

There are many more elements to being successful at a home business, or any business for that matter, that you need to embrace.

You can read The Science of Getting Rich on-line (One of the most complete step-by-step methods Books ever written on getting what you want out of life and it's Free) at:
http://www.mind-farms.com/free/SOGR.pdf

Visit the links, and think about the comments above.
Hopefully I'll see your comments here that this was of some help in "Throwing Away The Car Keys."
Enjoy,
Layard

The Psychic Reading Scam

The Psychic Reading Scam
by Layard Dunnett
It's just another scam based on people not paying attention and actually thinking about what they are seeing and the desire to find solutions outside of themselves.

I am NOT saying that Psychic abilities don't exist because I believe we all have abilities we haven't discovered yet.

What I am saying is that many of the "so called" Psychic Readers are nothing more than scam artist.

They are using a common (unfortunately) human trait which is, most folks want to blame their circumstances on some one or some thing outside of themselves and look to someone else for "magic" answers.

Sports betting system scammers use a similar method... not quite a obvious as one of the Psychic Reading scams presently being touted on the internet today but still a numbers game that dwells on ignorance.

First I will describe the nature of the current scam on Physic Readings.
There is one that I have received emails on about once a week for the last 4 or 5 months. That tells me two things in itself.

They are paying for advertising and... if they are paying for advertising continuously then they must be making money.

Anyway, here is how it starts. The email directs you to a site where 6 cards are displayed. It then tells you to concentrate on ONE of those 6 cards. The 6 cards are K-hearts, J-clubs, K-spades, Q-diamonds, Q-spades, and the J-diamonds.

They want you to believe that simply by concentrating on ONE card that some "psychic" associated with their Website will be able to read what is in your mind.

I don't know about you but before I have my coffee I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IS IN MY MIND so how is some "psychic" not even physically close (probably on another continent) to me going to do it?

Next they tell you to clink on a link, not on a card, then a group of 5 cards are displayed with a comment about how good your concentration is (phony compliment) and a statement that they have removed the card you were concentrating on.

And they DID, in fact, remove the card you were thinking about. As a matter of fact, they remove ALL 6 CARDS that were displayed in the previous frame by showing Q-clubs, K-diamonds, Q-hearts, K-clubs, and the J-hearts.

Notice that NONE of the cards in the previous frame are displayed. There are 4 Ks, 4 Qs, 4 Js in each deck of cards.
They show you 2 of each in the first frame, and then 5 of the remaining 6 in the second frame. Your card, or cards if you tried to be sneaky and picked 2, are not in the 2nd group.

Guess what... 75% of the people that look at this site don't catch on.
Why? Because they don't analyze, they don't THINK, and they want an easy way out of their problems.

Then, you can get a free reading... LOL, from them. One of those "I see great things in store for you but you need my guidance to realize them" type of readings.
The basic content of it is so generic that it could apply to half the population on this planet. AHA.... the first stage of the "numbers" game that the Sports Betting System scammers use. What do I mean by that?

Well, they just missed the mark on 50% of the folks who requested a free reading BUT, they hit the mark on the OTHER 50%. The hook is in the mouth.
Then they send you a few more emails stating similar claims for your future and saying that time is of the essence because you don't want to miss the "Window of Time" and you must take the correct actions to realize these "good things" the ethereal has in store for you.

Now is the easy part.
Send them some money, $40 to $70, and they will do an "in-depth" reading for you that will solve all your problems, make you 20 years younger, grow your hair back, and add 3 inches to your height.
You get the picture. Remember, this "reading" is coming to you from a system that played on your ignorance right from the very first contact.

I have no doubt that they offer a subscription service as well as other services to fleece the un-suspecting public out of more money.

Are there people with "Psychic" abilities? Can you develop them yourself?

What about "magic" answers to you problems?
Well, the answers exist but they are not "magic", they just seem that way. More on that at : The Invisible Path and Dr. Robert Anthony

So what about the Sports Betting Systems?
They usually are a "numbers game that simply counts on the law of averages and peoples ignorance.

Here is how it works.
They will advertise their system giving you a "winning" pick for free.
If they send this out to 1,000,000 emails then they will pick one team in 500,000 of those emails and THE OTHER TEAM in the remaining 500,000.

So 500,000 readers get an email with a free pick THAT WAS CORRECT.
Now they have established credibility (LOL) with THOSE 500,000 readers.
If a few of those return emails saying how pleased they were with the free "pick", the scammer typically "quotes" those emails as "testimonials" in their next mailing.
They then take that list of 500,000 with the winning team selected and send them another email offering their system and including ANOTHER free "pick" for the reader to bet on. Guess what?
They split those 500,000 into 2 groups of 250,000 with one team "picked" in one group and the other team "picked" in the other group.

Now 250,000 readers have seen, for their own eyes, that this "system" has picked 2 winners in a row.
Many will then buy the system at that time.
More "testimonials" come in.

These scammers are greedy though, so they continue their email campaign.
They take that 250,000 and split it into 2 groups again, then repeat the process, adding more "testimonials" each time.

Now 125,000 readers see that the "system" has picked 3 winners in a row... so more buy the system.
The scammers can do one or two more mailings to that list using the same techniques described above until they have exhausted the list.
Then they buy a new list and start over.

So why do they do this?
Because it is very profitable.
If it cost them $500 for a list of know sports bettors, $100 for their emailing service, $1 or less for a print out of their "system", and electronic downloads cost next to nothing, then they have less than $700 invested in the whole scam.
Now think about how many people might have bought the "system" they were touting.
If the "system" cost $49.95 (not untypical) then the scammer made money with ONLY 15 SALES.
I'll guarantee you that they made a LOT MORE THAN 15 SALES from that run.
Usually in the hundreds. Let's see... 200 x $50 (rounded off) = $10,000 - $700 = $9,300 Profit.
Just from a list of 1 million.
How many "Sports Bettors" do you think are out there.

This scam has been going on for many years, well before the internet even existed.
They used Direct Mail back then and larger lists.
After they have exhausted those lists or fell that the "system" is old, they simple create a "New System" with a different name and start all over again.

Enjoy,
Layard

Thanks for What?

Gratitude
On this day before Thanksgiving Day I was fortunate enough to receive this email from Tony Mase. It made me think a little deeper about Thanksgiving and what it means to me. Perhaps it will do the same for you. It's well worth the small amount of time it takes to read it. I am sending it out in today's emails and posting it on "What's Your Point" so everyone can share it.
********
By Tony Mase
One of the most important concepts Wallace D. Wattles wrote about in his books was gratitude. As a matter of fact, in the book for which he's best known, "The Science of Getting Rich", Wallace D. Wattles devoted an entire chapter to gratitude and used the word gratitude some thirty-two times throughout the book.
Although I'd been studying "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles for over three years, and made incredible changes in my life by applying its principles, I still didn't completely get this gratitude "thing".

I understood the importance of gratitude intellectually and, at least to some extent, was applying it in my life, but, and I don't know if this was just a "guy thing" or what, I didn't feel like I really understood it emotionally at a deep down, visceral level.

Then it happened...September 11, 2001...A day few of us will ever forget.
The one thing I'll always remember most about that fateful day was my son, who was three years old at the time, looking at me with his big brown eyes asking me the dreaded but inevitable..."Why Daddy?"For lack of anything better, I gave him the best good guy, bad guy analogy I could come with at the time and then, for whatever reason, I ended it with, "as bad as this appears to be, we have a lot to be thankful for."

Hoping that was that, I quickly began thinking of something else we could do or talk about to get his mind off the horror he'd just witnessed on television.Suddenly, I heard him ask..."

Like what Daddy?""

Like what, what?" I replied.
"Like what we have to be thankful for?" he asked.
"Great," I thought to myself, "I thought we were done with this."
"Well," I said, "we can be thankful that you, me and mommy are okay. A lot of little boys and girls lost their mommies or daddies today. Some of them lost both.

"He thought for a moment and then asked, "What else Daddy?"
"Well," I replied, "we can be thankful that so many people were able to get out of those buildings alive before they collapsed."

"What else Daddy?" he asked.
"Well..." I hesitated, desperately trying to think of something else.

"Come on Daddy," he said, "what else we have to be thankful for?"
"Well," I said, "we can be thankful for all the brave fire fighters, paramedics and police officers who are helping those who need it."

"And the fire fighters have fire trucks with lights and sirens, huh Daddy?" he asked with a smile on his face.
"Yes son, they do," I replied, returning his smile.

"What else Daddy?" he asked.
"Well son," I said, "we can be thankful that we have a strong military to protect us.""And they have tanks, huh Daddy?" he asked, this time with a really big smile (for whatever reason, he *really* likes tanks :-)).
"Yes son, they do," I replied, "and they have lots of them."

"What else we have to be thankful for Daddy?" he asked...As his "grilling" continued (which at the time seemed like it went on forever :-)), and the list of things we had to be thankful for grew larger and larger and larger, I could *feel*, rather dramatically, our thoughts shift from those of doubt, uncertainty, fear and worry, to those of certainty and faith.Finally...I got it! :-)

You see, all too often, when something's not "right" in our lives, or something's not the way we'd prefer it to be, even though it may be only a *tiny* portion of our overall experience, we tend to focus all our mental energy on it causing us to lose our perspective and, in the process, we virtually insure we'll get more of the same... more of what we *don't* want.
On the other hand...Gratitude forces us to focus on what's right in our lives, on the things that are the way we'd prefer them to be, which, chances are, are the overwhelming majority of our experience at any given time, causing us to put things in their proper perspective and thereby virtually insuring we'll get more of the same... more of what we *do* want!

Since that unforgettable day, I've repeated this simple exercise dozens of times...Whenever I feel thoughts of doubt, uncertainty, fear or worry starting to creep in, I simply ask myself what I have to be thankful for right *now* and then I keep asking...What else...What else...What else...
It's never failed yet to almost instantly help me regain a "constructive" perspective and replace those "destructive" thoughts of doubt, uncertainty, fear and worry with "constructive" thoughts of certainty and faith. Thanks son. :-)

Tony Mase is a serious student of the works of Wallace D. Obviously what we have been doing isn't working. Someone said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results" and just maybe they had a point there.
Today is Your Day to Win by Mike Brescia Mike started a Newsletter in 2000 called "Today is Your Day to Win" and it turned into a world-wide phenomenon growing to 99 Fast Sessions (chapters) and over 300 pages of tools to positively alter peoples habitual mental, emotional and physical habits by making tiny little daily changes over an extended period of time. You can subscribe to his Newsletter here: Think Right Now By the way, you can order the softcover version of Today Is Your Day To Win on that site as well.
I just did (subscribed) yesterday and received the first 10 chapters of his book via email.
I have included his Website above and received permission to post this so...
With that said, here is the first chapter.

Chapter 1 of 'Today Is Your Day To Win.' From The Bench To The Playing Field
Today's Empowering Quote
"I have brought myself by long meditation to the conviction that a human being with a settled purpose must accomplish it, and that nothing can resist a will which will stake even existence upon its fulfillment."-Benjamin Disraeli

Today's Empowering Question
"What am I willing to give up in order to reach my objective?"

Today's Fast Session
Since I've had so many requests about how I went from a real bum to being able to write to tens of thousands of friends all over the world, here's the story. It's... interesting.Up until early 1987 I regularly used to beg the gods for an answer to the question of why I couldn't get myself to do what I needed to do to get my simple goals met. Why was I so lazy and miserable? I was just... a bum.I got fired from countless jobs. I flunked out of college. And then got fired some more.

Finally, after reading some very popular books on selling and motivation over and over......
I continued to fail, not making one single solitary thin dime in my commissioned sales job for close to TWO more years. If it weren't for friends and then my trusty Ford Econoline van, I literally would've been living "on" the street.

One day, during this period, while sitting in my van, a man walked up and started talking to me. He was brilliant.
He went on to tell the story of when he, as an announcer, covered the World Series back in the late 60's. He had all the names; he knew stats like it was yesterday. His voice was clearly that of a broadcaster. But the thing that was most incredible was......
He was pushing a shopping cart, which carried all his earthly possessions.
He was homeless, too. Living on the street. I couldn't believe it.
He told me that he just got sick of the daily challenges. One problem after another. He literally became unable to function in any capacity. Very quickly he had lost everything. At the end, it was by choice.
Sadly, I could identify with THIS guy more than anyone I had met in a while. I was very low, but fortunately, I hadn't quite reached that level......
Yet.I did want to get off the "street" and stop being a bum. So I found this great bookstore around Hermosa Beach that had comfy chairs, and I started spending a lot of time there. Ultimately, I had gotten very familiar with a number of self-help change methods, including NLP, self-talk and Accelerated Learning techniques.
Like I said, I had a lot of time on my hands.I soon came back to Upstate New York, got a menial job and started to create my own Super-learning tapes with three cheap, borrowed tape players. Only instead of learning a language or factual data at lightning speeds, I figured I'd teach myself new attitudes and instruct myself to do things that sent tremors of fear through me... actions that could change me from a loser to someone I'd be proud to be.

So from every sales, biography, motivation, NLP and don't worry, be happy book I could find, I pulled out all the lessons, the beliefs and the attitudes of life's top performers. I turned them into self-instructions, and recorded them onto tapes with very specific baroque music passages playing in the background.
It was quite a setup. I was desperate and willing to do anything. I couldn't be getting fired more from any more $5.00 an hour jobs.In what seemed like just a few days, I began to feel differences. In my new job, I started working lots of hours putting coin-operated TVs together and installing them. Soon, I was making telephone calls to prospective customers, large travel plazas with big restaurants.
These early TV boxes were downright ugly, but I was able to convince the presidents of nearly every one of these huge corporations to let us tear up their nice dining rooms to put these things in.
It was wild. I mean, I just got in a frenzy of conviction before each call.
The more I listened to my tapes while I slept, the more fanatical I got about reading and learning. Among my recorded self-instructions were ones that told me I loved learning and that I was the greatest salesman in the world.Ha!!
I put in that the more I succeeded, the more success I wanted. Talk about a vicious cycle, huh?Well, soon I had exhausted the company's inventory of TV's. And since the revenue each one made wasn't that high, the company had no money to buy the parts to build hundreds more. Even though it proved to be a dead end job, it felt good not being fired.
So I left to start selling hearing instruments. I just got scary good. In an industry where 20-25% closing ratios were typical, I was selling 95%. In just about 4 months, that self-instruction about being the greatest salesman in the world was eerily coming true... at least in that industry. Soon I was going seven days a week. Missing a sale was just not an option.
I continued to listen to my tapes and develop new ones. Considering where I came from to where I was now, I figured that anything was possible. I researched and made tapes for everything from diet practices to anxiety. I had gone from being scared of everything to feeling like I couldn't fail.
I used to use double negatives when I spoke. "I didn't do nothing" was a famous line. This drove people around me crazy.
So I researched communication and public speaking and made an accelerated success tape. Whenever I wanted to eliminate a block, get good at something, or feel better about myself, I looked for the top professionals, researched their findings, uncovered lots of conflicting data, found what made sense and made a tape in the accelerated learning format.
I've found there wasn't anything that I couldn't literally install into or rip out of my mind.
And with the right thoughts and instructions, you could create an endless loop of success, each good outcome fueling in you the desire to keep the positive change and to improve even more.
In short, that's the early part of the story that leads me to today, getting to talk to you.
I hope this answered a few questions and inspired you to believe that no matter what you're going through right now, you are truly magnificent.
All you have to do is release your blocks and embrace your unlimited potential.
There's enormous power within you.
It might be buried, but it's there.
I know, I know. If that seems a little beyond what your belief system currently allows you to accept, I understand. That's OK.
Keep reading and repeating your self instructions.
You'll become a believer soon enough.

Today's Winning Beliefs
Every success I achieve fuels in me the desire for more *
I can achieve anything that I can imagine*
I have the ability to visualize every aspect of my success*
My ability is greater than any challenge I could face*
Think Right Now

Who's in Control?

Are we Brainwashed?
Most of us spend our entire lives being controlled by others in one way or another. Oh we like to think we have control but we are just fooling ourselves.
Yes, I know YOU chose what to major in at college. Yes, I know YOU chose which job to take. Yes, I know YOU make up your own mind (heh, heh, heh). So, if that is true then why aren't you really happy?
We are brainwashed from the moment we come out of the womb folks. By our Parents (with the best of intentions), by our Teachers (often ignorant of what they are doing in that respect), by our Peers, by the Newspapers and Television (and now the Internet), by our Leaders, and even by our Preachers, Pastors, Rabies, and Priests.
It is formidable attack and it works. We "conform" to the world we live in. We do that and think we are "happy" because we are taught to think that way. We are taught to think that working 40 to 50 hours a week to help someone else make money is the right thing to do. We are taught to think that accepting the world around us as it is is the right thing to do. We are taught that "voting" gives us some control and a "say" in our Government. We are taught that "our" religious leaders have the only correct way to get to heaven. We are taught that our Law Enforcement and Judicial entities are all Honest and there for "our" benefit. We are taught so many things that in no way whatever contribute to our individual growth and comfort that we eventually just give up. Work 30 or 40 years, get our pension, and then I will be happy... isn't that what most people "dream" of?
What a sad dream.
I believed all that garbage. I said I believed..... past tense.
Well... I am not buying that Crap any more.
Am I a rebel, a trouble causer, an insurgent?
NO. I am just someone who discovered how to get in touch with the inner self. I still follow all the Laws of Man, I still pay my taxes, and I still love my Country. The only difference is I now access parts of me that the society I live in tried to suppress. I am someone who is learning how to be truly happy. And guess what... in the process I discovered I can do anything (that does not harm another living thing) I want to. I can be anything I want to. I can have anything I want to. And maybe even share that knowledge with other people... or at least with those that are ready.
Science has Proven that WE control what happens around us by simply "observing" it.
What an Amazing statement.
I always thought that in order for me to "observe" something it had to already be there.... but the Truth is much more fascinating. Not only that but once the True relationship of observing is understood it can be applied by anyone.
Yeah, yeah... If I am looking at a chair and pointing at it saying "Look at that chair" and you are in the same room, you will see the same chair I do so what's the big deal. Well, there are different "levels" of observation in the sense that many things in the world we live in are observed by many minds at the same time thus the thing being observed maintains its presence. Kind of like a "team" view but much more subtle.
Is understanding this occurrence on a scientific level difficult? Yes. You would have to study Quantum Physics to fully understand the SCIENTIFIC FACT of this. On the other hand you probably have sat in a chair. You felt the support under you and perhaps even felt the texture of the material it was covered with or the richness of the wood. And You believe the chair is real. You are not an expert in organic chemistry, synthetic chemistry (things the material covering of the chair are made of), nor are you and ergonomics engineer, and I am certain you cannot make up a batch of real wood in your kitchen yet you believe the chair is there. My point is that you don't HAVE to understand the "why" of how this works, only accept the obvious fact the IT DOES WORK.
Because it WORKS, those in the know have used this knowledge for both good and ill ever since mankind began. That's why I say we are "brainwashed" and also say "we don't have to stay that way". In my opening comments I referred to our conforming to the world we live in. We conform because we are told what to "observe" in our minds, thereby making that observation a reality.
Would you believe that an entire Country lives in a oppressed state because they are taught to believe they have only that way to live? And the "powers" that control that country constantly re-enforce that belief and tell the peoples of that Country that their only salvation is to do what the "powers" say, or things will get even worse? Well, look around the world today. There are many Countries just like that. And, unfortunately, things will not change quickly in any of those Countries. That "team" view I mentioned earlier is actually the collective consciousness of the peoples of those countries and when That Many Believe the "Same Thing" then that "Thing" shall be so. Whether it be Good or Bad. It is a Law of Nature.
That doesn't mean that a citizen of that country can't change His or Her own Personal position because we see that happen all the time. It is just the those folks that "break out" of that "group consciousness" are an exception, not the rule.
On a smaller scale, we can and DO control what happens to us (our own personal self) to a much greater degree than we realize. We do it by "observation." I know you are asking "What's this nut case talking about now?" but bear with me.
WE Create our own existence by observing it BEFORE IT BECOME A REALITY. Yes, I am shouting. Once you understand and apply this You will want to Shout It From The Rooftops too. It is that powerful, and can free you. It can free you to Dream again, have Hope again, enjoy Life again, and while you are on this Planet. I'm not talking about some future benefit in some other state of existence, I am talking about the Here and Now.
There are several excellent courses on how to accomplish this in today's world. Theological teachings also explain the concept but not in today's language and is often laced with "Religious Doctrine" that can be confusing to the reader. Plus there are other sources that can lead you down the path to understanding THIS concept such as The Invisible Path to Success and the "easy to understand" course by Dr. Robert Anthony.
To reiterate, Are You Brainwashed? Yes. Can You change that? Yes. But... you have to learn how.
LD

Achieving Your Goals

Secrets Of The Richest People
Would you like to realize your goals? Maybe you'd like to run your own business, expand your material possessions, or succeed in the arts. There is no one path to the pot of gold, but many people of all backgrounds have successfully found it.
Whether you want to follow the ways of the great financiers, the famous politicians, or the dynamic movie stars, there are common modes of behavior each of them followed. And in many cases, they have shared their secrets so YOU CAN FOLLOW THEIR FOOTSTEPS.
"If you wish to know the road up the mountain, ask the person who goes back and forth on it," said the ancient sage, Zenrin. What better way is there to know the secrets than to ask those who made it?
What goals do you want to achieve? And what amount of effort can you commit? You may want money for the extra things in life, money to build a corporate empire, or money to support yourself while you pursue the fine arts.
Perhaps you'd like to take the risk to start something new in your life. You may want to open your own business, devote your energies to an artistic career such as acting, or reap the benefits of your yearly endeavors with fabulous vacations several times a year.
What will bring you happiness? The satisfaction of success takes many forms. Not only are people seeking financial fortunes, but also the ancient goal of peace of mind.
Do you worry? You might be concerned about your health or your family's well-being. You may be anxious about the added expenses of education, medical bills, or the steady increase of cost of living. There are ways out of the endless cycles of worry, stress and anxiety. Right now, you can rise above the whirl of survival to achieve the accomplishments you dream of. When you're ready to put your whole effort into realizing your goals, YOU WILL SUCCEED.
WHAT ARE RICHES
"Had I but plenty of money, money enough to spare," wrote Robert Browning. And money is the greatest attribute of riches. A universal desire, money is the materialization of riches, the stuff that makes the rest possible.
Are you looking for financial security? For retirement, for education or leisure? Riches are the overflowing abundance of material possessions - houses, cars, boats, furnishings - everything you ever wanted.
Centuries ago, Horace wrote, "By right means, if you can, but by any means, make money." For many people it is a path towards happiness, a cure-all for worry and peace of mind.
For others, riches come in the form of satisfaction and personal independence. Satisfaction comes from accomplishment in employment or attaining goals. It is that feeling of contentment and confidence from a good task well done. Riches are closely linked with success. And with that comes fame and acknowledgment of position. Success might be the feeling of well-being from the rewards of good effort. Or the enthusiasm and vitality triggered by recognition.
"Success is how well I enjoy the minutes," said producer Norman Lear.
Throughout history, the people who lived with riches often achieved them by hard work, diligence and a belief in themselves. For some people, it took courage, genius and stamina.
But for many others, it took nothing special but the desire to turn dreams into reality. Whether you want millions of dollars, recognition as an artist, or personal freedom, you have the ability to make your life as rich as you want.
Think about what you most desire. It may not be hard cash, but what it can buy. Or it may be those feelings of inner satisfaction, from creating something beautiful or strong.
You may want personal independence from the work week, or freedom to live anywhere you want. You may be looking for something meaningful and significant in life - something other than things money can buy. Whatever your goals, and however difficult they seem to be to accomplish, you have the ability to become who you want. Take a look - can you see yourself surrounded by riches?
Picture the world open and in front of you, ready to become the form of your dreams, ready to stage your desires. "Why then, the world's mine oyster," wrote Shakespeare, "which I with sword will open."
WHO IS SUCCESSFUL?
Many people who achieve fortune in the world are not born rich. But they accomplished it through hard work and a plan of action.
Every type of person on earth can become successful. There are saints and scoundrels; philanthropists and thieves; poets and politicians; young and old. There are no limitations or physical boundaries for success.
Success comes to those who think about success and strive for it. Although many rich financiers at the turn of the century had no formal education, they overcame that and went on to great fame.
Some people strive towards a single goal from early in life, and often attain that goal while still young. Others are willing to risk new adventures later and still attain success.
"It's never too late to learn," wrote Malcolm Forbes, the money magnate. "I learned to ride a motorcycle at 50 and fly balloons at 52."
Whatever your task, whatever your obstacles, you can be as successful as anyone else. Study the people who accomplished recognition in the areas of your pursuit. How did they achieve their goals?
And don't be afraid you don't have what it takes. As Daniel Webster wrote, "There is always room at the top."
FORMING CONVICTION
The single attribute that every successful person has is the one-pointed devotion to attain a goal. "There in the sunshine are my highest aspirations," wrote Louisa May Alcott, "I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead."
What are your desires? How can you form them into definite goals that you can attain? Lawrence Peter wrote, "If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else."
Maybe you're studying a craft or skill. Perhaps you're caught in a rung of the corporate ladder. Or, you might feel constricted by your family and the environment around you.
Which star are you reaching for? "Ours is a world where people don't know what they want and are willing to go through anything to get it," wrote Don Marquis.
Take the time to think about your own aspirations. Look inside to find what feels right. Almost everyone entertains the notions of fame and fortune, but put on the costume that fits you.
Conviction requires certain qualities of action. You must be sincere and be willing to assume responsibility. And you need the self-discipline necessary to work towards your goals.
Are you prepared to achieve your dreams? Can you form their reality in your mind? Will you devote your entire being to attaining what you want?
ON YOUR OWN
Most millionaires are non-conformists. So are the most famous actors and actresses; and the most prominent artists. Writers are known for their individual traits and eccentricities.
Your convictions and goals are your own business, even when you find help along the path. Mentors often take people under their wings to nourish and teach. Or spiritual guides will show you the path to attainment. But you're on your own to achieve.
Cultivate a sense of justice and an ability to make decisions. Cooperate with everybody and develop your own self-respect. And follow good criticism and advice after you've judged carefully. J. Paul Getty said, "I advise young millionaires to be skeptical of advice. They should advise themselves; they should form their own opinions."
Lord Byron wrote, "There is rapture on the lonely shore." And if you attain your goals with poise and sincerity, you'll find warmth and love at the top - not the cold loneliness pictured by the jealous.
Put on blinders to negative comments and criticism meant to hurt you. About the people who criticize, Voltaire wrote, "Never having been able to succeed in the world, they took revenge by speaking ill of it."
SEIZE THE DAY
People are judged by what they think and what they say. But the true measure of their character is what they do. Anyone who has achieved success and fortune in the world has done it by action.
William Jennings Bryan wrote, "Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved."
The choice of the path you follow is often put before you as opportunity. "Few people recognize opportunity," said Cary Grant, "because it comes disguised as hard work."
Don't let opportunities slip past while you're still considering them, and create new ones as you see them. "Wise people make more opportunities than they find," said Francis Bacon.
What opportunities can you act upon? Woolworth saw a need for small inexpensive items and opened the chain of stores that grossed billions. Wrigley started giving gum away as a bonus from a supplies wagon he sold from, and saw the opportunity to make money from the gum that became in high demand.
All successful people the world over have found the opportunities for their own special talents and acted upon those ways to achieve. Why wait for the time to pass? There's never a better time than now.
"Sometimes," wrote Lewis Carroll believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Take your own impossible dreams and make them become reality.
HOW THEY THINK
Thousands of potential millionaires are born every year. And making a million dollars is coming closer to everyone's pocket. What advice did the money-makers follow?
Aristotle Onassis worked eighteen hours a day to maintain his fortune. He started as a welder and aimed for the top. "You have to think money day and night," he said, "you should even dream about it in your sleep."
John D. Rockefeller, Jr., said, "I believe in the dignity of labor, whether with head or hand; that the world owes every person an opportunity to make a living."
And J. Paul Getty acknowledged his hard work: "I have no complex about wealth. I have worked hard for my money, producing things people need."
Even Proverbs advises: "In all labor there is profit."
Richard Bach, the author of the best selling "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" wrote, "You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true. You may have to work for it, however."
The Empress of the British Empire, Queen Victoria, admonished, "We are not interested in the possibilities of defeat."

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
There are qualities of endeavor and achievement that are common to many people who make it to the top. The following questions are a guideline to self-enterprise and attaining your goals.
1. Do you prefer to work for yourself than for others?
2. Are you well-informed on current business and political affairs?
3. Are you a leader?
4. Do you take advantage of opportunities?
5. Do you pay attention to what other people say?
6. Can you finish a job even when it is difficult or unpleasant?
7. Are you challenged by problems?
8. Do you have a goal you want to achieve?
9. Do you consider other people?
10. Do you strive to attain?
11. Can you obey commands?
12. Can you bounce back after defeat?
13. Do you believe in yourself?
14. Can you stand by your actions in spite of criticism?
15. Can you follow instructions?
16. Can you respond to the needs of others?
17. Will you give credit to other
18. Can you make your own decisions?
19. Are you determined?
20. Are you ready for success?
ESTABLISH A GOAL
What do you want? Are you looking for financial security, professional acknowledgment, spiritual attainment? Do you want to fit better socially, or become more expressive creatively? Establish the goal that's right for you.
Then turn that goal from a dream into a desire. You want to realize that goal, not just wish for it. Aesop said, "Beware that you do not lose the substance by grabbing at the shadow." Know exactly what you want, then go for it.
Don't be tricked by your own procrastination - especially if you want to achieve something artistic. The writer Thomas Wolfe wrote, "I had been sustained by that delightful illusion of success which we all have when we dream about the books we are going to write instead of actually doing them. Now I was face to face with it, and suddenly I realized that I had committed my life and my integrity so irrevocably to this struggle that I must conquer now or be destroyed."
Can you see what you want? If you want the abundance of material wealth that money provides, what goal will give you that money? Do you want the prestige of owning your own business? What business do you want to begin?
Where are the opportunities for you? Talk to everyone in the business you want to join. Make friends in the literary or art societies in your area. Read books and articles about your field of endeavor. How can you attain your goal?
"If you don't want to work, you have to work to earn enough money so that you don't have to work," wrote Ogden Nash. And isn't that the way" Money makes money; success breeds success. But not always. How can you break through those thoughts to help yourself to the rewards?
Henry David Thoreau wrote, "I have learned this at least by my experiment: that if you advance confidently in the direction of your dreams, and endeavor to live the life which you imagine, you will meet with success."
Think big and visualize success. Do you see yourself in a big house? Maybe you picture your artwork hanging in a gallery. Can you feel your book in print and in your hands? How does it feel to be a person of success? Believe that you are; believe that it is in your grasp. That's what the others did, and that's how people make it to the top.
Then get down to basics. Be precise. Exactly how much money do you want, and by what date? And exactly what are you going to do to earn that money? Be realistic, but give yourself short-term goals.
Write it down. In six months or one year, you will have how much money. And repeat it until it feels good. Then repeat it twice a day until it swirls in your subconscious, until it becomes your one-pointed goal.
"The goal stands up, the keeper stands up to keep the goal," wrote A. E. Housman.
KEYS TO SUCCESS
Make people feel at ease. They will respond to your needs as you respond to theirs.
Share the spotlight. Give credit to those who deserve it - and to those who strive. Don't grab praise away from other people.
Have confidence in your own value. Don't do anything that won't credit your own self-respect. Follow up your actions as they reflect your own self-worth.
Listen well to others' comments. Then weigh your own actions. Cultivate relationships with people who have good and important things to say.
Participate in life. Be active in business meetings and endeavors; volunteer to be part of organizations and groups. Social interaction will boost your sense of well-being .
Feel worthy of your own goal. Know that you can attain it and that it is right for you.
Grasp your own challenge. Don't give yourself impossible goals, but always reach higher.
Relax and be yourself. Each person is different and just as wonderful as the next. Don't be plagued by what you think others think of you.
Don't bathe in success - use it. Once you achieve your first goal, go on to others. Use the money you earn for the rewards you look for. Then go on to the next endeavor.
Be slow to criticize others' achievements. Find out how they did it and learn from them.
Never use subterfuge. Don't go behind someone's back. Speak your mind and earn respect.
Banish negative thoughts and traits. Restructure your life to exclude bad habits.
Believe in yourself and what you are to accomplish. All the power in the world is within you to achieve.
WORK TOWARDS YOUR GOAL
"To get profit without risk, experience without danger, and reward without work, is as impossible as it is to live without being born," wrote A. P. Gouthey. Every person who has attained something worthwhile has worked for that goal.
Cary Grant said, "I do believe that people can do practically anything they set out to do if they apply themselves diligently and learn."
Which path is the right way towards your goal? Do you need more education? Do you need a few years experience in your field of business? Maybe you need a teacher or guide to help you practice.
"I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached, as by the obstacles which are overcome while trying to succeed," wrote Booker T. Washington.
What obstacles are in your way? Consider them as easy to pass through as hurdles are to a champion runner. Take each obstacle as a special challenge placed especially for you. Approach it with intelligence and courage, then learn what it has to teach.
"Success is a journey," said Ben Sweetland, "not a destination." For some, the process of attainment is the attainment itself. They move on, keep growing and expanding. There is no still water at the top.
"The message from the moon is that no problem need any longer be considered insoluble," wrote Norman Cousins. And you can attain anything that seems impossible.
If you have a problem that needs to be solved, sit calmly and consider it with a clear mind. Observe all the consequences of the actions - both good and bad. Ponder the paths and actions and contemplate the core of the problem. The solution will appear.
"Ask and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you for everyone who asketh, receiveth. He that seeketh, findeth and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened."
Tap the inner self and encourage positive actions. With each outgoing breath, release the impossible; at each incoming breath, inhale the attainable. Demand the best of yourself, but don't despair from an overused sense of perfection.
What can you learn? And who can teach you? Can you attend classes and seminars from universities near home? Check out books from the libraries and absorb the material. Find a master and become an apprentice.
"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty," said Henry Ford. "Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young."
Never stop learning; never stop growing and expanding as a person and in your personal endeavor.
ASK YOURSELF
As you consider the success you desire, you need to affirm its possibilities and develop the self-confidence necessary to attain the goals. Learn to do things well. "If you know how to do one thing well, you can do everything," wrote the philosopher Gurdjieff.
Are you ready for success?
Is what you are doing now helping you to achieve your goals?
Do you weigh the consequences before making a decision?
Is this the best use of your time?
Do you cooperate with everyone and help cultivate their best potentials? Are you warm and sincere?
Do you have the courage to succeed?
Do you have the self-discipline necessary to achieve your goals?
Do you have a realistic sense of self-worth?
Do you give more than you take?
Do you have the courage to fail, and then pick up and try again?
Can you assume responsibility without blaming others if things go wrong?
Are you strong?
Can you be sympathetic to life and its sufferings?
Can you say no?
Will you follow your convictions and plans to achieve?
Do you sincerely want to achieve the goals you have chosen?
TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
"The price of greatness is responsibility," wrote Winston Churchill. Are you willing to take the responsibility once you attain the success you desire?
"The deepest personal defeat suffered by human beings is constituted by the difference between what one was capable of becoming and what one has in fact become," wrote Ashley Montague. And the greatest tragedy is to become less than your full potential, using less than the abilities you have to work with.
Are you waiting for something to happen? Maybe you're waiting for a job offer, or a promotion. Perhaps you're waiting until you get good enough at a craft or skill. Or are you waiting for the inspiration of creativity to strike your life?
It is up to you to take the actions and be responsible for their consequences. "Our responsibility: every opportunity, an obligation; every possession, a duty," wrote John D. Rockefeller, Jr.
Inspire yourself. Read books that will spurn you to action; talk to people who have the vitality you admire. How would you like to lead your life? And make the changes necessary to be like that. "There is nothing permanent except change," wrote Heraclitus. What changes do you want to make? What are you waiting for?
ACCOMPLISHMENT
What actions will take you closer to your goals? Decide upon the steps and write them down. Review them until you feel comfortable with those steps. Then repeat them at least once a day, crossing them off as you accomplish them.
"I believe there is no escape from the rule that We must do many, many little things to accomplish even just one big thing," said James Dupont. "This gives me patience when I need it most."
The most rewarding accomplishments are those that take long to achieve and present difficulties. It is only through these difficulties that a person can rise above the rest to be the unusual, the outspoken and the well-deserved.
As if building a kit, follow your own instructions. Decide your best courses of action and achieve their benefits. Whether the steps are small or large, make them achievable and then do them. Don't commit yourself to things that you never intend to do.
"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there," said Will Rogers. Don't be paralyzed by inaction; rather act upon your own convictions.
Set yourself up for rewards. Don't give yourself goals that have no feeling of satisfaction or no monetary rewards. If you want to be an artist, be the best and learn from the best. Don't dwell on imperfections or the awkwardness of unpolished skills.
If you go into business, do it for profit or reinvestment. "In business, the earning of profit is something more than an incident of success. It is an essential condition of success. Because the continued absence of profit itself spells failure," said Justice Brandeis.
Marchant wrote, "To be a success in business, be daring, be first, be different." Think of ways to achieve the best; formulas to increase productivity or decrease overhead. Profit is your drive.
"Profitability is the sovereign criterion of the enterprise," wrote Peter Drucker. And, profitability is the core of any achievement - whether financial or artistic.
Once you achieve your goals, think of ways to benefit others. "Money-getters are the benefactors of our race," said P.T. Barnum. "To them we are indebted for our institutions of learning, and of art, our academies, colleges and churches." How can you benefit humankind and still keep enough to fulfill your own desires?
THE HIDDEN ASSET
Not all success can be counted in dollars; not all richness is measured by money. "The great secret of success is to go through life as a person who never gets used up," said Albert Schweitzer. "Retire upon yourself and look for the ultimate cause of things inside you."
Look within yourself for the ultimate inspiration, and follow the true feelings you discover. "One of my favorite methods is to whisper," said Alfred Hitchcock. "I've discovered the best work is done with sweet reason."
Act upon your own conscience -that guides; that judges your actions and signals your behavior. "Conscience is the inner voice that warns us that someone may be looking," wrote H. L. Mencken.
Accomplish what you desire; fulfill your inner yearnings. But don't compromise your deepest feelings.
"We do our best that we know how at the moment, and if it doesn't turn out, we modify it," said F. D. Roosevelt.
Follow the paths that life offers you and live the fullest existence you can.
TAKE A LOOK
Look at yourself and look at those who have succeeded throughout history. Do you have what it takes? Even if you have only a few of the qualities of the other great people, you can achieve your heart's desire.
Reach for the highest, then reach higher. Accomplish your steps one by one on a daily basis, always moving forward, always making progress. Encourage yourself. Insist that you can succeed and affirm these thoughts daily.
Keep a sense of proportion and judge for yourself. Then keep busy at the tasks you've set out to accomplish. What's keeping you? "Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration," said Albert Einstein.
Find inspiration wherever you can. Talk to people; read about people; learn your business or craft. Believe that you can do it and you will. The only way to dispel the doubt that you can do something is to finish it.
Always be the best you can be. Never fall short from fatigue or lethargy. Don't attempt to do anything that you can't give your all to.
There is no way to inner satisfaction without appealing to the higher consciousness. Search within and without to find the paths that are meant for you and follow them with conviction and a steady heart. And, you will succeed to become as rich and full as you ever desired.
Harold Ickes wanted the "freedom to live one's life with the window of the soul open to new thoughts, new ideas and new aspirations."
And Woody Allen looked for a clear path. "If only God would give me some clear sign" he said. "Like making a large deposit in my name at a Swiss bank."
Finally, Sophie Tucker sums up everyone's worldly outlook: "I've been rich and I've been poor," she said. "Rich is better."

"The Personal Power Course" - YOU Can Create the Life YOU'VE Always Wanted...

Reality Points

Whose Reality are We In?
Most people don't have a clue... I have been teaching Adult Education for over 20 years now. Mostly Mechanical Theory and Application for the first 12 years and now Computer Related and Digital Imaging Courses.
In teaching the Theory, whether it be Mechanical, Electrical, or Hydraulics, one thing I discovered is that the Laws of Nature don't change... and those Laws don't care how important you may be (or think your are) because they will apply themselves to every one and every thing in the exact same manner every time. That's why they are called "Laws" of Nature.
Accepting that fact is the first step in what could be a miraculous change in your life. The Laws of Nature apply to everyone on this planet irregardless of Race, Religion, Age, Physical Stature, Political Position, Location, or any other factor that may indicate our place IN the world. What we need to accept is that we are ON this world and the "Laws" work... every single time... without fail and without question.
The most obvious example of this is Gravity. Everyone and Everything is affected by it in the Exact Same Manner. We cannot change that fact.
I have used the Laws of Nature to install theoretical "understanding" in the minds of my Students for over 20 years. And... those Laws have Never made a liar out of me yet. Once again I am thankful for the "powers that be" that have created those "Laws".
Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, and even the lesser know Theologies of the American Indians ALL tried to explain some of those Laws in the language that was available and understood during those times. Of course many people think ANY religion is a bunch of hog-wash. To some extent I think they are correct about Religious Doctrine but, hidden in each one of them (the Theology) are eternal seeds of truth. Science is discovering that fact. Scary thought isn't it... that Science is now saying that Religion is right in some of its teaching.
As a matter of fact those "truths" are applied to you even if you are an Atheist or Agnostic. Nature respects no man. Now where have I heard "that" before?
First let me explain what I mean by "truths". I am referring to those that Science has proven to be valid. Those "Laws" that hold up to the scrutiny of investigation, verification, and duplication. After all, if it is a Law of Nature it must be able to be demonstrated in a manner that shows it works the same way every time.
As a man thinks so is he. You are what you eat. What goes up must come down. There are all sorts of sayings that we are aware of that point to Laws of Nature. And... they all contain "seeds" of truth. "So what" you say. Well, if you really understand those Laws you can make use of them. You can change things using "Laws" that are infallible. "Laws" that work every single time you apply them. "Laws" that your are entitled to use. That's right... you have a RIGHT TO USE THESE LAWS.
WOW! I want you to really think about that last statement. You have a Right to use these Laws of Nature. Of course you also must Obey the Laws of Nature as well. You might get away with breaking Mans Laws but you won't get away with breaking Natures Laws. Understanding that will give you abilities that you never dreamed you could attain.
The first "Law" covered will be "as a man (or woman) thinks".
What you think is actually what controls your life. "As a man thinks" is based on the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction states that Like attracts Like. And that has been proven Scientifically many times over. Understanding that Law will first of all explain why you are where you are today and second, explain how to get to where you want to be in the future.
We see this Law applied (demonstrated) every day of our lives. We even react to it... without realizing that there is "Law" that is causing us to do so. We, all of us, seek out those folks that have similar interests, similar likes, similar appearance, similar beliefs, and even similar processions. Think about it. You DO that don't you? Of course you do.
The thing about this law is that it applied to "things" as well as people. I'm nuts you say? Well, I may be, but the statement I just made is true. That is one of the reasons Gravity works. Mass is attracted to Mass. OK, some genius just said that's not true all the time because in Magnets the law is Opposites attract. Well, that is true but the first law is obeyed first Magnets attract Magnets. Sometimes we say opposites attract in relationships... you know... boys like girls, or at least it used to be that way. But even at that level the first law is obeyed first. Opposite sexes are attracted to each other because of similarities first. Sex is just icing on the cake for the much stronger (and longer lasting) emotion of love as far as I am concerned.
Let's explore "as a man thinks" more deeply. You've heard the saying "If you think you can, you can, and if you think you can't you can't... either way you are right" haven't you? Well guess what... it is TRUE. Thoughts have POWER. More power than you ever imagined. Nothing, absolutely nothing would exist without thought first being manifested. Again... nothing would exist without thought first being manifested. What you think creates your reality. Not what Fred, Jane, or Oscar thinks... it's what YOU think. That's what creates Your World. There was a line in the movie Thunderdome with Mel Gibson in it although he didn't speak the line. It was "Remember, no matter where you go, there you are". That is so true. It's not talking about what we see in the mirror. It's referring to all the other "baggage" we carry around with us in our minds. As we think therefore we are. And moving to a new house, City, or Country is not going to change any of that. That has to be changed from the inside... not the outside.
Brother Dave Gardner also said something on one of his record albums years ago. Yes, a record album. One of those black round things with tiny grooves in it that you placed on a machine with a long arm having a needle in the end that rode in the grooves and made noise out of the machines. speakers. I am that old. Kids now days haven't ever seen one of those things. They think a "record" is a file the police have on them. Anyway here is what he said on his album.
"Let them that don't want none... have memories of not getting any". I just love that quote. It applies to all aspects of life, not just to what he was referring to in his skit.
As a man thinks... if you think you don't deserve success then you won't get it. If you think you don't deserve to be loved then you will either drive love away or refuse to accept it. If you think you are stupid then you will do things to prove that is true.
BUT... if you think you deserve success you will find it. If you think you deserve to be love you will love and be loved. If you think you are intelligent you will become intelligent.
Why... because it is a LAW OF NATURE.
As a man thinks so is he. And You can't stop that law from manifesting itself in your life. Think bad things - get bad things, think good things - get good things. It IS that simple.
Now the Bad news.
Simple doesn't always mean easy. Ouch... that sentence hurt.
The Law is straight forward. Our problem is learning how to think correctly... and learning how to un-think as well. We are thinking all the time. Consciously and sub-consciously. We can control the conscious thought easily. It's the sub-conscious thoughts that make us or break us. I did find a course that explains these Laws of Nature and leads you by the hand step-by-step through the understanding of them. You can take a look at it at The Elite Inner Circle.
Remember I said Thoughts have power. Thinking becomes reality. Thoughts call upon the "Universal Powers" and then create whatever that thought is. Fact... not fiction. All the great leaders know (or knew if they are passed) that fact.

They didn't doubt it for a moment.

Acne can be Devastating to anyone that has it. You may also find some boring articles as well as some that you may not agree with. Much of the content is contributed. Some of it is mine. This is a Dynamic Site in that it will continue to grow as long as I do.
So... why bother.
Sometimes I wonder that myself. I mean who cares? Certainly not anyone in my immediate family. They think they have already heard it all before, and they are probably right when it comes to what I have to say. But maybe, just maybe, there are one or two folks out there that ARE interested in some of the things I ramble on about. And I need that. I need to know that someone on this planet appreciates me.
Does that seem like a wimpy statement? To some perhaps but we ALL have that "need" whether we admit it or not.
So... why bother?
Because I cannot do otherwise.
If I don't try to share what I have discovered, if I don't try to touch other human beings, if I don't bother to communicate with the world outside of me then I am all alone. And being all alone with just yourself all the time is really boring, not to mention frustrating.
So... why bother. Because I can't stand being all by myself.
Now let's see who I really am. Do you know who YOU really are? I can't speak for you but as far as I am concerned I don't know yet. I don't know who I really am because I am still learning, still growing, still looking for.... me.
I think most of us confuse who we are with who we want other people to THINK we are. We show the world outside one person and then, late at night, when we are alone with our thoughts, we have to spend time with the "real" us. Sometimes that isn't so bad and sometimes that is the last place we want to be. It depends on who we "really" are and what we did that day.
Alright, what in the heck does that mean. Well, if you are basically a good person that takes action when necessary, is still learning about the people and the world you live in, and is trying to improve yourself, trying to become a better person... then time with yourself can be not only enjoyable but also fruitful. But if you already know it all and get really mad at all those idiots that don't recognize your genius... then I suspect you don't spend much time with yourself. Or... at least not productive time
Is there a difference between "being alone" and "spending time with yourself"?
I think there is. If I am just "being alone" then I am not in touch with my "inner me", and usually I am just re-hashing events of the day (going over mistakes) without evaluating them. Or I am playing a game on the computer, watching TV, or some other activity that does not require me to "think" about "me", and by "me" I mean the "real" me. The one I sometimes like and sometimes don't like.
So here I am. Writing these thoughts in a form the whole world can see. I may not be the kind of person I want to be but I am a better person today than I was yesterday... and for that I am thankful.
I am thankful I discovered that I wasn't perfect.
I am thankful that I am still able to change.
I am thankful that the higher powers allow me to grow.
I am thankful for those that acknowledge me when I do good.
I am thankful for those that ignore me when I make mistakes.
I am even more thankful for those that point out I made a mistake... otherwise how would I grow?
I am thankful for the person I used to be... because of that person I am now who I am today.
And I am thankful for the person I am becoming... because I am going to like that person so much better.
Some days it is more difficult to remember that I am thankful than other days. Then I remind myself that I am a "work in progress" and that means the person that upset my script for the day is ALSO a "work in progress" and that helps.
Script for the day?... Now don't we all get upset when when have something all planned out and some one or some thing interferes with Our Perfect Plan? Sure we do. I'll ramble on about that at a later date. Otherwise, having more than one page on this site would be..... Pointless.

We all know what that is don't we. It's getting up a 5:00 AM so we can be at work by 7:00 Am. It's looking at our savings account (that was for a vacation) drop to almost nothing because the house needs a new roof.
